Victory is the Destruction of the Enemy

Today in 1146, the crossbow was outlawed in Europe. A lame attempt to limit war. The crossbow was devastating to armor of any type or strength, deadly accurate, and easy to use. Why not use it against your enemy?

Israel is fighting a limited war against Hezbollah (Hizboola, however those maggot infested goat sodomizers want to spell it). Lebanon will not stand in the way of the Hezbos. Kinda like having your big brother (Iran via Syria via Hezbos) sucker punch the nerd kid just because he's smart and nobody likes him.

We, the United States, have fought "limited" wars before. Our Viet Nam campaign failed, in large part, because we did not pursue and destroy the enemy. Any ground we captured, we gave back to the enemy. We allowed him to regroup, refit, and redeploy. The Viet Cong and NVA knew we would pull out, and all they had to do was hold on, wait for us to leave, and declare victory.

Is history repeating itself in Iraq? The idea of a timetable is being hoisted up the flagpole. Of course the usual suspects will be saluting. Will anyone from the conservative camp be saluting as well? This is an election year, and the campaign for President begins hard upon its heels. Is this some kind of strategery to sweep the Iraq war under the magic carpet, so to speak, and give Republicans a little wiggle room? What the hell! I hope not.

Limited war results in unlimited defeat. Unlimited war results in VICTORY.

Happy Katrina Day

This morning on CNN , Soledad O'Brien was showing off the remains of the devastation of hurricane Katrina. She eyed a wrecked/abandoned car that apparently had been there since last year. "Why is this car still here?" Soledad asked the air. She continued, using the car as launchpad for her fingerpointing spew about the failures of the Federal government.

Uh, Soledad, I have lived in a slum area before. There were cars "parked" on the street there that hadn't moved in over a year. Mine, one of the vehicles in the neighborhood which actually moved from its spot each day, was set on fire one night and would have joined the local curbside recycling program had I not taken it out of the area to be repaired. I don't seem to recall anyone from CNN, or the local stations for that matter, reporting that. Is it possible (probable) that car was there before Katrina?

And why don't we hear the same kind of vitriol about the gulf shore area around the Big N.O.? Well...Mississippi has a republican governor, and the gulf shore area is populated by white people. New Orleans is, uh, a Chocolate City , where leftist liberals and poverty pimps have been in charge for years. Which story sells more papers? An area recovering and rebuilding run by whitey, or poor poor pitiful poor black folks being abused by FEMA, et al?

John Mark Karr Must Assume Room Temperature

Even if he did not murder Jon Benet Ramsey. The prosecution dropped the case today , but Karr is not without guilt in other matters relating to sex with children. A lesson from our old friends in the KGB: Lock him in a room with a loaded pistol, then bill the family for the bullet that splattered his brains all over the room.

The Face of the Enemy, Part II: History Test

An e-mail I received recently had this as an attachment:

HISTORY TEST

Do you remember? -1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a. Superman b. Jay Lenno c. Harry Potter d. Muslim male extremist between the ages of 17 and 40 1. So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because of profiling.

'Nuf said, yet again.

Why Polymath

If you were wondering how I came up with the name Polymath, wonder no more. I had discovered a friend's blog and, being a cryptic smartass, I wanted to leave a comment which could be attributed to me only through careful deduction. I needed a name that would describe me without being obvious.

I began by looking up several names from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales such as "miller," "reeve," "franklin," "yeoman," etc. I could not find anything fitting; "franklin" was close but not descriptive enough. And I did not want to be confused with a character from Peanuts.

I thought of all the things I had done in my life. I have had many different occupations, blue collar and white collar, encompassing all manner of work (and hours!). I have often been called McGuyver because of my ability to improvise a solution to a particular problem. McGuyver was descriptive enough, but kinda corny. Out of curiosity, I looked up Jack of All Trades in Wikipedia. As luck would have it, included in their description was a brief mention of a Bruce Campbell series of the same name. Fantastic! But not cerebral enough.

At the bottom of the page was a line reading "see also Polymath ." Cerebral, descriptive, and a slight Bruce Campbell reference. Gold!

I guess I was too clever. I had to tell my friend it was me.

Rewarding Bad Behavior

Why do some people get preferential treatment? Two boys who play football at a small town high school in Ohio have been allowed by a judge to play "the rest of the football season" in a community where about half the population attends the Friday night games. Their crime was causing a crash that injured two other teenagers, causing severe brain damage to one of the victims. Read the story here.

Has the judge in this case forgotten that undesireable behavior should be immediately punished? (Remember Psych 101?) Especially when it comes to teenagers? And has the season even started yet? Let's wait and see if they actually serve all of the 60-day sentence.

The Face of the Enemy

What kind of enemy are we confronted with in the War on Terror? Is there "chatter" about some new plot involving blue haired old ladies with knitting needles? Why, in this latest round of TSA malarkey, are we preventing people from carrying-on deodorant, toothpaste or mouthwash? Airliner cabins are funky enough when passengers are allowed to bring toiletries on board.

Look at all of the acts of terror commited against this Nation and her citizens. Here is a brief recap:

Marine Corps barracks bombing (by Hezbollah!) in Lebanon, 1983

Nightclub bombing in Berlin, 1986

World Trade Center bombing, 1993

Pan Am flight 103 bombing, 1988

Coordinated embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, 1998

USS Cole bombing, 2000

World Trade Center and Pentagon attack, 2001

Who commited these atrocities? Radical Islamo-Fascists. Belivers in the peaceful faith of Islam. Specifically, middle eastern men, early twenties to late forties. We need racial profiling! To Hell with political correctness.

Looking Good for Lieberman

The leftist wackos thought they had it in the bag. Well, Lamont did win the primary, but the one that counts is the general election. Lieberman is leading by a good margin in the Connecticut race for U.S. Senate. As an independent.

The primary, which the hateful anti-war left has declared a total victory for their pathetic cause, has proven that the left is controlled by a single issue: the War on Terror. Lieberman is anything but a conservative on most issues. Do we so quickly forget he was Algore's running mate in 2000? The man who used to be the next Vice President? Lieberman is unclean because of his support for the war, and his refusal to withdraw from his position. And he's a J-E-W.

The leftist wackos have co-opted what used to be a respectable party once upon a time. Not any more. I think if I lived in CT, I would vote for Lieberman over the republican candidate just to stick it to the party hacks behind Lamont.

Reuters: Radical Islamo-Fascisim's Best Friends

Reuters has been on the wrong side of the war on terror since their refusal to use the word "terrorist" to describe a, well, terrorist.

Reuters has again shown their stripes in two separate but related events. Exhibit A: a doctored photograph showing smoke over Beirut. Caused, no doubt, by Israeli (code for Jew) aggression against 100% not guilty people. Exhibit B: an employee of Reuters sent death threats to blogger Charles Johnson (http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com/) using the address zionistpig@hotmail.com.

A quote from the latter story: "I think it's more than fair to say that Reuters has a big problem."
