der Changemaker at Harvard

I met a man yesterday who attended Harvard at the same time as Barry Obama. He was intelligent and well-spoken, so I will take him at his word.

Our conversation began when he noticed my anti-Obama t-shirt which states: "Chump change we can believe in." We spoke for about 20 minutes on conservative issues, the fallacy of leftist ideology, and Obama's presentation as a messianic figure (minus the substance, of course).

I mentioned to Michael (the man with whom I was speaking) that as the president of the Harvard Law Review, Obama should have had his pick of countless excellent opportunities for a newly minted J.D., including clerk for an U.S. Supreme Court justice. Obama chose instead to become a "community organizer" in Chicago. Michael asked, "Do you know how many articles Obama wrote for Law Review? Zero. Usually, the editor will write at least one, but Obama wrote none. Not one."

Michael's sons came over to where we were speaking, and chuckled at my shirt. Michael asked them, "What do we call Obama at our house?" They both laughed sheepishly and said, "The Antichrist." Of course they were joking, but if the shoe fits...

Preorder Frenzy!

Obama has a new book coming out in September: "Change We Can Believe In." It is a collection of campaign speeches that Obama has made. The only new material is the introduction which the cover claims Obama wrote himself. Wow. The dedication it must have taken to create what is sure to be a classic work on public policy.

If you scroll down in the above link at Amazon, you will see the "tags" associated with this title. There are the tags one might expect, such as "barack," "obama," "president," and "campaign." For whatever reason, there is also the tag "kickass." Not sure about that one.

I am looking forward to the amusing photoshop reworkings of the cover.

Constitutional Question, Part II: der Changemaker and William Ayers

In an earlier post, I speculated that Obama's holding of Federal office may be called into question under Amendment XIV, Section 3, of the U.S. Constitution. His association with Reverend Jerimiah Wright remains a highly questionable one for a politician. But Wright did not participate in an overt rebellion.

William Ayers, of Weather Underground infamy, responsible for bombings of the Pentagon, did participate in overt armed rebellion against the United States. He is also closely tied to Obama. This has been reported before, and has been tossed off by the Obama campaign like every other bit of bad political news: Minimal connection. Only a passing acquaintance. Not the man I knew.

Not so fast. Jerome Corsi's new book, The Obama Nation, spells out the specifics (with footnotes) of Obama's close connection to Ayers:

"Far from it being a casual relationship, Obama began his political career in the home of Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dorn...

To get Obama's state senate race off to a good start, Palmer [who was vacating the seat to run for a U.S. House seat] arranged a function for a few influential liberals in the district, at the Hyde Park home of Weather Underground activists Ayers and Dorn...

...Obama and Ayers were "friends."

Obama served on the board of the Woods Fund, with Ayers as its director, from 1999 until 2002. The Woods Fund made a $40,000 grant to the Arab American Action Network (a pro-Palestinian group) in 2001, and an additional $35,000 grant in 2002.

Here's some icing on the cake: A mash note to the unrepentant attempted murderer Ayers. The story ran in the New York Times on September 11, 2001.

The book has much, much more documented evidence harmful to Obama's campaign. The hard part will be getting people to pay attention between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's latest baby news, and travel advice from Matt Damon long enough to listen.

Pelosi Politburo

When you run out of the room, hitting the light switch as you exit, you know that your position is weak and wrong.

This is a real example of how the Man (big government leftist Democrats) wants to keep us down. This is not about the Holy Environment. It is simply about power and control. The enemy (yes, I called them the enemy) wants to keep us ignorant and docile. We are easier to control that way. Energy policy clearly needs to be debated and resolved.

A commentor at Hot Air has referred to the House Republicans who are holding their own session during recess as "Spartans." I can only wish that more conservatives held to the Spartan code: "No retreat, no surrender, no prisoners, no mercy." When justice and righteousness are on the line, there is no other code to follow. I am reminded of the Spartan mother's admonition to her son, about to march to his first battle: "Return with your shield, or on it."

Here is cell-phone video about the Republican "special session":

I am calling out my representative, Congressman Virgil Goode, to get back to D.C. and stand with the rest of those who are not afraid to do what is right.

Should he choose to do so, the President has Constitutional authority under Article II, Section 3 to call the House back into session. It is high noon, Mr. President.
