In an attemt to demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the issue, Holder has said something even more stupid than his comments on race relations (emphasis added): "I think it will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." What a maroon.

Here are some common-sense laws which may appeal to the Obama administration: Outlaw cars that go over 65 m.p.h. Ban high-fat foods and impose calorie restrictions on all citizens. Make cigarettes and alcohol illegal. Why not? These things are bad, and they kill people!
How is it possible that, in cities such as D.C. where guns are illegal, are people still killed with guns? These places have more crime because the law-abiding citizen is disarmed.
During the campaign, then-Senator Obama was asked about the second amendment. He responded in his typical long-winded-but-saying-nothing style that a hunter would have "nothing to fear" from an Obama administration. Let me take this opportunity to instruct the President, who is a knucklehead when it comes to the Constitution. The second amendment has not one thing to do with hunting. It has everything to do with preventing tyranny.
In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote "[t]hat whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government..." If our arms are taken from us, what shall be left for us to alter or abolish with? Spitballs?
I am sure I shall be painted as a paranoid. But freedom is seldom lost all at once. If it is to succeed, tyranny must be an incremental process. First "assault weapons." Then, all semi-autos. Then, all large calibers. Then, all handguns. Then, all firearms not designated "sporting arms," to be kept in a government arsenal. Then all remaining guns surrendered to the government arsenal. While all this is going on, ammunition is taxed into unaffordability, either directly or through materials used in manufacturing. Then ALL guns, now illegal, are gone forever.
We have seen the contempt of the left for regular Americans in the passage of the Succubus bill. Our cries of restraint were ignored wholesale by Obama and his congressional lackeys. They want us disarmed, so that the takeover can begin in earnest, and tyranny can reign in full.
An honest government has nothing to fear from an armed citizen. An armed citizen has everything to fear from a government who would disarm him.

I have never felt like a zombie before.
I have been fever-free now for two days, and I pray for a clean break from this nasty bug.
By the by, President Obama gets, as usual, an A for delivery, and an F for content. Governor Jindal, C and A, respectively.
I was waiting for Nancy Pelosi's arms to break off at the elbows. With all the wild flailing, she nearly knocked herself out a few times. Biden looked like he needed a buzzer in his chair to rem ind him to stand at the applause lines.

There are now news stories going around about complaints of payments made through ATM card issued by a bank contractor. There are the usual screams about banks overcharging for fees; specifically the punative fee if one were to make more than 3 "out-of-network" withdrawls.
Banks participating in the program are providing a service. Rightly, thy expect to get paid for the service. At least the unemployed do not wave to wait in line to recieve, and then wait in another line to cash, their checks.
Oh, the humanity!!! What a fake story.

This concept came from the "free lunch" table offered by many bars, provided one bought a drink. From an old New York Times story about the resurgence of the "free lunch":
"Before Prohibition, people were constantly trying to restrict alcohol,” said Jef Klein, author of “The History and Stories of the Best Bars of New York.” “A big complaint about bars was that guys would drink on an empty stomach. Free lunch offers popped up everywhere — you had to buy the drink to get the lunch.” Hence the phrase “No such thing as a free lunch.”
In the end, someone always pays.
This is exactly what is going on with just one facet of the multi-multi-faceted Succubus. Big Brother Barry is going to give people who are in default - on home loans they could not afford in the first place - a new government-guaranteed loan at a lower rate.
Uh, Mr. President? Did we not already do this a few years ago with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, with disastrous results?
I am sickened by the entitlement mentality on blatant display during the President's recent campaign tour promoting the Succubus. "I want a new kitchen!" "I want more benefits!" "I want a new car!" "I want the pony I never got for my 10th birthday!"
The Succubus has laid a debt on the heads of our children and grandchildren which they will never be able to repay. But the left does not care. Those in power want more power, no matter the cost. The useful idiots have given it to them.

I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.
We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.
We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place,
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.
With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.
When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,

A spokesman for Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, who is known for his tough stance on drugs, said Tuesday the department was investigating.
"Our narcotics division is reviewing the information that we have, and they're investigating what charges, if any, will be filed," said Lt. Chris Cowan, a spokesman for agency.
"The bottom line is, if he broke the law, and he did it in Richland County, he's going to be charged," Cowan said. "And there's no difference between Michael Phelps and several other people that we arrest for the same type of a charge everyday."
Based on what evidence? A regrettable photo which could be any 23-year-old dark hared Caucasian male in a rear 3/4 view? Phelps' public statements and apology?
Yes, in the eyes of the law there is no difference between Phelps and any other person who may have been in a picture smoking a bong. But Phelps is a celebrity, an Olympian, and a role model for children. "Cowboy" sheriffs love to go after anyone in the public eye if it will help feather their nest.
Phelps has apologized publicly for the incident. We should let it go at that, and use it as a teachable moment for our children.
